I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a PhD student in Marriage and Family Therapy at Brigham Young University. I completed my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at East Carolina University and my bachelor’s degree at Kansas State University.
Therapy is a vulnerable process, and I value the trust you place in me to help you reach your goals. I want therapy to feel like a collaborative process where you can show up as you are in that moment and walk out feeling a little lighter. Therapy should feel warm, encouraging, and challenging. I like to zoom out to identify patterns across time and locate the root of an issue. I believe doing this helps us untangle the internal dialogues we’ve been governed by and craft healthier ways of thinking. I take a person-centered approach to therapy as I like to incorporate all aspects of your identity into therapy, building from the bio-psycho-social-spiritual model. I believe your background and lived experiences shape how you engage with the world, and I strive to provide an open, warm, and inviting space for all cultures, identities, religions, and dynamics.Â
I work across the lifespan with individuals, couples, and families. My therapeutic work primarily utilizes Bowen Family Systems Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Theory, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. For children, my work is grounded in Filial Therapy. I particularly enjoy working with couples navigating life transitions, men who feel like they’re never enough, and parents seeking additional support for their children. I also have additional training in obsessive-compulsive disorder.
I am supervised by Connor Barham, LMFT, and have openings at our Provo office and via telehealth.
My rate is $150 for the first appointment and $130 for ongoing appointments. I can accept SelectHealth, BCBS, Aetna, U of U Health Plans, DMBA, PEHP, United Healthcare, UMR, and EMI Health insurance.
