Hi, I’m Julia! I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families build and strengthen healthy relationships. I believe cultivating healthy relationships is a skill, and like any skill, it can be learned and strengthened. Many of us enter relationships without ever being taught how to understand and communicate our needs, navigate conflict, maintain emotional connection and build the kind of partnership we truly want. We often wait until problems feel overwhelming before seeking help. My work is different: I enjoy helping proactive individuals and couples build the relationship skills they need before problems become deeply rooted. With relationship preparation as my specialty, my approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and skills-focused.
I work with premarital couples, young couples preparing for parenthood, and expecting/new parents navigating the enormous transition that comes with having a child, including prenatal and postpartum challenges. Having recently experienced this transition myself, I understand how profoundly becoming a parent can affect your sense of self, your relationships, and your day-to-day life. I also work with individuals and youth who are learning to navigate relationships and need support developing healthy patterns of communication, boundaries, and emotional awareness. My approach to therapy incorporates educational resources with evidence-based models such as Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Narrative Therapy. My hope is to offer a space where you will feel understood, seen, and empowered to build the meaningful relationships you want—with your loved ones and with yourself.
You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. In fact, some of the most meaningful work happens when we seek support not because something is wrong, but because we want to be prepared to do it well. If you’re someone who wants to be intentional about the relationships you are building and the person you want to be within them, I’m happy to help!
I am supervised by Connor Barham, LMFT, and have openings at our Provo office and via telehealth.
Therapy sessions last 55 minutes. Initial intake: $150/session. Ongoing therapy: $130/session. I can accept SelectHealth, BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, U of U Health Plans, DMBA, PEHP, UHC, UMR, Tricare, and EMI Health insurance.
